Feedback from staff:

“Thanks, Paul, for a wonderful presentation!  You have a knack for providing an overview of the material at a good pace, incorporating different activities to break it up, and getting the teens engaged.  I especially like how you encourage them to think about their top three skills, and how those can match what employers are looking for (even when a teen hasn’t had a paying job before), and how they can use those skills in a 2-3 sentence paragraph that answers the question, “Tell us about yourself.”   It’s also great that you get them to start identifying their network of friends, family, social acquaintances, etc., as people who might be able to help them find a job.  I look forward to working with you again!”  -Michele McLaughlin, Teen Services Librarian

“I am especially impressed by your ability to adapt the presentation but also by your success in keeping your audience’s attention and relaxed presentation style. Illustrating the tips with stories was very effective and made said tips more memorable. I’m sure I picked up a few tips along with the teens!”  -Jessica Gomes, Teen Services Lead Librarian

“Students received a packet of information full of tips for successful job searching.  Paul highlighted these tips and gave excellent examples.  All participants were engaged and enthusiastic.”  -Rosalie Olds, Librarian

Thank you for a well done program. Everyone had a high level of engagement and got different things from the program. My favorite part was looking at the Craigslist ads with my small group for keywords to use in our 30 second commercial. I showed somebody that technique today and gave the your skills word list – I know I will use that a lot.  -Rebecca Hershey, Teen Services, Kent Regional Library
