During the 20 years I have been working with teens, both in structured and informal settings, I have gained invaluable experience. This has taught me a lot about connecting with young people and keeping them engaged. I am fortunate to be able to support and empower youth as they face the challenges of becoming healthy and successful adults in these times.
As an outdoor guide I have trained with Rites of Passage, Inc. and The School of Lost Borders. I have guided youth and adult wilderness trips with ROP, Inc., Rite of Passage Journeys, the YMCA Boys Outdoor Leadership Development program, and the Vashon Wilderness Program, among others. I strive to bring authenticity, joy, and wholeness to this work. I thrive in compassionately supporting young folks as they find that place where revelatory self-awareness meets connection to the world around them.
I also offer career guidance services to young adults. In Keys To Success workshops, small groups, and individual counseling, I am able to connect with young people and engage them authentically in the process of learning how to develop professionally and personally. I have facilitated workshops through the King County Library System, the Lake Washington School District, and at events such as the 2010 Independent Living Conference and the Life After High School series.
